Day 01: Arrival in India (Srinagar)
In the morning arrive at Srinagar airport or railway station. Srinagar has
been described by some visitors as the Venice of the East. A unique charm of
Srinagar is its 1300 or more houseboats, the floating little hotels on the
edge of the Dal Lake. Upon arrival you will be met by our representative and
transferred to the deluxe house boat. Rest of the day free for leisure to
explore the beautiful surroundings in Srinagar.
Day 02: Srinagar
Today you will start your sightseeing in Srinagar. Today you will visit the
famous Mughal gardens in Srinagar. In the Mughal gardens first of all you
will view the Chashma Shahi. Chashma Shahi means the Royal Spring and is
dedicated to the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. After visiting the Chashma Shahi
you will visit the Nishat and Shalimar Mughal Gardens. In the evening you
will visit the Shankaracharya Temple. This temple is located on a sharp
hill, 1,000 feet high and houses a small temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.
From the top of the hills, you would be able to have a panoramic view of the
Kashmir Valley. After visiting the temple you will drive back to our house
boat.
Day 03: Srinagar - Pahalgam - Srinagar (about 194 km)
In the morning after breakfast drive to Pahalgam. Pahalgam is located about
97 km from Srinagar. On the way you will pass through pine forest and also
visit the saffron fields. Pahalgam is the popular hill resort of the Kashmir
valley. In Pahalgam you can have a walk to Baisaren, which is about 2 km
from Pahalgam. A small village, set in pine and fir forest is pleasing and
offers good view. After visiting Pahalgam we drive back to Srinagar.
Day 04: Srinagar - Delhi (by air)
In the morning transfer to the airport for the flight to Delhi. Arrival in
Delhi and transfer to the Hotel.
Day 05: Delhi (Local Sightseeing)
In the morning you will have sightseeing in Old Delhi. Sightseeing of Old
Delhi includes Rajghat, Jama Masjid, Humayun Tomb, Qutub Minar, India Gate,
Government Buildings and Embassies.
Day 06: Delhi - Agra (about 180 km)
In the morning you will drive to Agra. Arrival in Agra in the afternoon.
Today you will have sightseeing by a visit to the Agra Fort. Then you will
visit the most beautiful monument of India, the Taj Mahal, an enduring
monument to love, with a continually fulfilling beauty.
Day 07: Agra - Fatehpur Sikri - Jaipur (about 260 km)
Today you will leave Agra, drive through a series of fields, small towns and
villages in direction of Jaipur. Enroute you will make a stop and visit
Fatehpur Sikri, which was once an imperial capital frozen in time,
constructed by Akbar the Great in the 16th century. In the evening arrive in
Jaipur.
Day 08: Jaipur – Jaisalmer (by train)
After breakfast visit the ancient capital of Amber, laying 11 km. away from
Jaipur. Amber was the ancient capital of Kachhawaha dynasty for 6 centuries
before it was moved to newly created Jaipur. You will ascend to the Palace
Fortress on the back of an Elephant. Enroute to Amber you will visit the
Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds). In the afternoon you will visit the City
Palace that is still the formal residence of the royal family, built in a
blend of the Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. Later visit the Jantar
Mantar, a stone observatory and have a walk through the colourful Bazaar of
Jaipur. In the evening drive through the new city of Jaipur and visit Laxmi
Narayan Mandir, a Hindu temple made out of white marble. You might have an
opportunity here to observe a prayer ceremony. In the night transfer to the
railway station for the train to Jaisalmer.
Day 09: Jaisalmer
Arrival in Jaisalmer and transfer to hotel. After having breakfast
sightseeing of the medieval city of Jaisalmer. Here, you will have a walk
through the old city and visit the Fort and the Jain temple. In the
afternoon you will drive around 40 km. away from Jaisalmer to Sam dunes
where you will enjoy the sunset before driving back to Jaisalmer.
Day 10: Jaisalmer
Enjoy the camel (desert) safari in Jaisalmer.
Day 11: Jaisalmer – Delhi (by train)
The day is at leisure. In the afternoon transfer to the railway station for
the train to Delhi.
Day 12: Delhi
Arrival in Delhi in the morning. Transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at
leisure.
Day 13: Delhi (Departure)
Transfer to the airport for the flight to home destination.
