Thiruvananthapuram Gateway to Kerala
One arrives at Thiruvananthapuram erstwhile Trivandum in morning by train or flight. You will be accommodated in a hotel at the earliest by your Kerala Tour operator. Thiruvananthapuram to Kanyakumari and back
After the night stay in Thiruvananthapuram we move to Kanyakumari or Cape Comorin. It is the place where Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean meet. It is a holy place for Hindus housing two Shakti Peethas, Bhagavathy temple and Shuchindram.
We would then go to Vivekanada rock memorial and pay respect at Gandhi Memorial. Day end will be marked by a spectacular sunset viewed from Kanyakumari. When we return back to Thiruvananthapuram for night stay, dinner will be served at the hotel.
Thiruvananthapuram to Kovlam
Fourth day of tour and we make our way to the one of the most beautiful beaches in world. It houses many ayurvedic treatment joints and has a castle built by queen. We leave you free for the day to explore at your wish.
It will be a short 25 minutes journey. At night you sleep at the camp along the beach or at the hotel.
One finds himself at Kovalam, relaxing. It has three beaches each is unique in its geography and mannerism. Kovalam also has a light house which is a must see named Vizhinjam Lighthouse. Overnight stay at Kovlam today will be a memorable one.
Kovlam to Alappuzha, road trip
A 3 hours road drive will take you to Alappuzha or Alleppey. It is a picturesque town known as Venice of east is networked with canals. Experience the backwaters – A sure unforgettable experience with a stay in traditional houseboats over night.
Evening is kept free for you to spend it at your leisure. You can go for shopping in the nearby streets.
Alappuzha to Kumarakom, road trip
We would hit road from Alappuzha to Kumarakom to reach the banks of freshwater Vembanad Lake in Kumarakom. You would stay there for a day to be enchanted with local bio diversity. The Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is a must see which is home to a variety of bird species.
Night stay is planned at Kumarakom today.
Kumarakom to Priyar, road trip
We move to Periyar to explore wild life in its natural habitat from Kumarakom. It will be approx. 3 hours journey by road. Periyar wildlife sanctuary is known for elephants and host of other wild animals like sambar, wild boar etc. The boat cruise in Periyar Lake is planned next. You would stays at Periyar for night before moving on.
Periyar to Munnar, road trip
Today we would move from beaches to hills after coming to Mummar. It will be approx. 2 hours and a half hours journey by road. It’s a hill station at on the Kannan Devan Hills and hosts the highest peak of south Anamudi. It has vast tea plantations and is in between wild life sanctuaries. Munnar is a popular honeymoon spot as well.
Evening is spent at the tea plantation site exploring the making of tea. When you return the dinner will be served at the hotel itself
Day is planned for picturesque Atukkad Waterfalls amidst hills and jungles. Avail a short elephant ride at elephant arrival spot. Get to see entire tea processing methodology at Tata Tea museum. There are other fall and sanctuaries which can grab ones attention. Ask the tour guide to help you explore the hidden.
Munnar to Kochi, road trip
One again starts getting back to coastline. Kochi was a center of spice trade for centuries. It is most important center on west coast after Mumbai. Note that it will be a 3 hours journey via road.
Evening is planned for Kathakali dance show. When you return, a delicious south Indian dinner will be served at the hotel.
You would get a lot of time to explore at Kochi or Cochin. We would visit the oldest church in India, St Francis Church. Take a look at Portuguese houses dating back five centuries, strange fishing practices with Chinese cantilevered nets manned by 6 fishermen, 16th century Synagogue, Jew Town and Mattancherry Palace. The palace houses some of India’s best murals. Others like Kochi fort, Hill palace etc are attractions too.
