Where is Kovalam?
The small village of Kovalam (10 km south of Thiruvananthapuram) is located
in the state of Kerala in southern India. It lies on the Malabar coast and
is one of the most popular beach hangouts in India.
How will you gain access?
The Thiruvananthapuram International Airport (14 km) is the closest airport
from Kovalam. The Indian Airlines and the Jet Airways operate flights
connecting Kovalam to places like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore. The
nearest railhead is the Thiruvanantha Central Railway Station. There are
trains available to all the key destinations of the country. Kovalam can
also be reached by regular bus services available from Thiruvananthapuram.
There are buses connecting the place to Ernakulam, Kanyakumari and Periyar
Wildlife Sanctuary.

September to March is the best time to pay a visit to Kovalam. During the
winters, the average temperature of Kovalam is 30 to 32 degrees centigrade.
In summer the temperature ranges between 30 and 35 degrees centigrade.
